Park Cottage, Lincolnshire
Project Summary
Take a look at this exquisite holiday home, set in the stunning Lincolnshire country side. GB Solar were pleased to have worked on this recently modified home, adding a 6.57kWp In-roof PV system to the games room extension. This project was fully supplied, installed and commissioned by GB Solar in 2022 and we are pleased to report excellent generation figures and energy savings in the two years post system going live.
With the addition of an extension and new roof, our client opted for an in-roof PV system. The in-roof system compliments the aesthetic of the slate roof by sitting flush to the tile. We installed 18 JA solar panels, mounted using a GSE in-roof mounting system. The panels were laid in two horizontal rows of 9.
Our client had a plant room towards the back of the property, which was the perfect position for the integral electrical components to be housed. We used a GivEnergy 3.6 Hybrid inverter, which also allowed our clients installation to be notified under local DNO regulations. We also installed x2 GivEnergy 8.2kWh batteries in the plant room. These UK manufactured batteries give a 10-year warranty, and will ensure the properties surplus energy is stored and released during peak hours.
Our installation team were on site for 3 days in total. In-roof systems are a little more complex in their installation process, but we worked extremely closely with our client and contractors on site to ensure the panels were mounted at the same time as the new roof going on. Upon successful completion of our clients PV installation, our engineers were able to show him the monitoring portal and set up the wifi access. Our project was completed with a full handover to the customer, including all electrical certification and product warranties.
